Mary was Jesus's mum and Jesus's dad was Joseph. People believed that god was Jesus's dad, Angels came into Joseph's dream and told him to marry Mary and name the son that will be born Jesus. Jesus was born on Christmas. Jesus and Buddha are both teachers  and are both worshiped.

What I am proud of

1. I am proud of how hard I try on almost everything I do, I try even though I don't know how to do it or work it out.

2. I am proud of my learning, how I am solving the problems that my teacher gave me.

3.  I am proud of my teacher, without her I wouldn't be as brainy as the other kids is my school.

4. I am proud of all the drawing I draw at school and at home, all my drawings have a meaning.

5. Last but not least, I am proud of my friends, without their encouragement I wouldn't be me.

What I am thankful of

1. I am thankful to my friends, they were a massive part of my life.

2. I am thankful to my parents, they taught me at home so I can be smarter at school.

3. I am thankful for my school that I am in because I've improved for the past 6 years.

4. I am thankful to my teacher Miss Chand, she has been nice to me every since she came to New Zealand.

5. I am thankful for my life, I am lucky to be in a rich country.

SLJ Making Cooookies!

Goal: To make simple cooookies

Ingredients: 150g of sugar, 1 egg, 40ml oil,honey tbs, flour 180g, baking soda ½ of ts, pinch
of salt and chocolate chips.

We got to choose what to make between a muffin and cookie.

My group voted for cookies so we started. Our leader of the group, Faiana she went up to
get the ingredients.

We made our

 It was hard because everyone had different ideas on how to break the chocolate chips.

First tip 150g of brown sugar into a bowl 

Then add 1 egg 

Mix the two together 

 Add 40m of oil 

Then add 2 cups of 180g  flour

Add ½ a teaspoon of baking soda 

Add a pinch of salt into the bowl 

 After that mix it

Then take it out of the bowl and shape it into a cookie

Add the chocolate chip top

 Put it on a tray and then put it in the oven for about 15-20 minutes

Time in the oven: 15-20 minutes 

Degrees inside the oven: 240 degrees

SLJ Building A Wall

For this activity, let’s imagine that Donald Trump called you up and asked for your opinion on this controversial issue.

On your blog, please tell us what you think about his plan to build a wall between the USA and Mexico. Is it a good idea or a bad idea? Why do you think so?

I think building a wall between USA and Mexico is good because people from mexico might sneak in. Mexico Army's could come in and wipe out small villages then target the massive cities.

SLJ Climate Change

For this activity, please think about an issue you would protest over
(non-violently, of course!).

On your blog, explain the issue clearly and tell us why it is so
important to you.

If it was me, I would consider non-violently protesting over
the lack of diversity in my local council and health board.
I think there should be people from different ethnicity,
different jobs, and different ages who represent the city that I live in.

Climate  Change I want to help people in countries that are having
so much climate change. The reason why is, kids are not getting
enough air. It is too hot there, plants can’t grow and humans won’t survive.

SLJ Being Principal for 1 week

For this activity, let’s imagine that, like Helen, you are hired to lead an
organisation. In this case, you are hired to be the principal of your school
for one week. How exciting?! What changes would you introduce? Would
you make the school day longer? Would you introduce daily trips to the
swimming pool?

On your blog, list five changes that you would make to your school
if you were hired to be the principal for one week.

If I was the Principal for 1 week I would let everybody study till lunch
time so we could be the top school. After studying everybody gets free
time for the rest of the day. That will make the students smarter and make
them want to learn more.

Activity 3: The Columbian Exchange

Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer born back in 1451. He started sailing when he was 14 years old and spent a lot of his life looking for a passageway from his home continent of Europe to Asia. He never found one. Instead, he spent much of his time in the Americas (North, Central and South).

Christopher Columbus was, and still is, a very controversial man. Some people would even call him ‘infamous’ (well-known for doing something bad) because he spent much of his life sailing around the world, enslaving innocent people, spreading diseases and taking natural resources from the countries that he visited. His actions had a significant impact on the lives of others.

Who has had a significant impact on your life?

My mum and dad has made a positive impact in my life, if it wasn't for them I would've not exist. Without my parents I would be hopeless but sometimes we need to move on without them. But they will be in your heart, just move on, for them.

Activity 2: When the Rubber Hits the Road

The Amazon rainforest is the world’s largest tropical rainforest. It is located in South America and is home to an incredibly special and unique environment. Unfortunately, the long-term health of the forest is at risk with hundreds of people entering the rainforest and cutting down trees without permission. Activists, like Marina Silva, are fighting back against this illegal logging and, in some cases, they are winning.

Marina actually spent her childhood working in the Amazon rainforest as a rubber tapper. She did not attend school or learn how to read or write until the age of sixteen. In fact, she was the first person in her family to ever go to school and the first one to earn a university degree. Her family must have been so proud of her accomplishments.

Benjamin: I am proud of going to school because I am actually learning.

Cyrus: I am proud of participating in the games I have never tried.

Ocean: I am proud of finishing in time because I get smarter by that.

Activity 1: The Rainman of Rajasthan

Arguably, the most important resource that we have on this planet is water. Without water, we simply would not survive. Here in New Zealand, almost everyone has access to free, clean drinking water but this is not the case in other parts of the world (e.g. Rajasthan, India; sub-saharan Africa, etc.).

In fact, almost 1 billion people do not have access to clean drinking water. People like Peter Chasse have set up organisations like The Water Project to help address this issue and bring drinkable water to communities that do not currently have access to it.

In some countries like Africa and India, people had to walk back and forth collecting water for their family. The water is dirty by human and animal waste, people die every year in Africa and India because of dirty water.

Fairy Bread

Room 10 were making fairy bread but room 10 had company, room 1 was coming too. We got a slice of bread shaped as a triangle and got to put icing on it. After putting icing students in room 10 and room 1 poured in a whole lot of sprinkles and marshmallows, they even ate some.

Xmas Ornaments

Christmas was coming up and our teacher had a
 great idea. She said that we should make our own
 Christmas ornaments and that’s what we did.
Lets look at how we made it.

1. Pour in 2 cups of flour into a medium bowl.

2. Pour in 1 cup of water and 1 cup of salt into the medium bowl.

3. Mix until it doesn't stick to your hands or fingers.
put it on a flat space (like a table) and start shaping it.

4. let it dry for a whole day.

5. put it in the oven 90 Celsius for 3 hours.

6. Then Paint.

A Taniwha is a legendary creature that Maoris think is real. Nobody has seen a Taniwha that's why there are different types of Taniwhas on google. People need evidence for others to know if a Taniwha is real. Taniwhas are similar to a serpent, Taniwhas are carnivores they would kidnap women and will eat and kill people. They Hide in lakes, caves,rivers and oceans. Others believe that a Taniwha was made to be a guardian of an ancient tribe. A Taniwha has been spotted several times but by different people.

Assembly Feelings

Our Assembly was on Friday 15th November and the day was here, most of us were scared but I was overconfident. As minutes passed my feeling changed to how much amount of audience there is. Our whole hall was filled with chatters and giggles, my teacher gave me the signal to walk up and speak. But as I did my mouth was glued shut then came out an exciting voice that said "Welcome To Room 10's Assembly," my fear was gone.


I was the host but I had buddies some of my buddies didn't make it. It took time to find the right buddy a confident, all ways here buddy. Her name was Sheila, she said the parts that I couldn't say.


Our story's went super well people made mistakes but kept on going. The whole Assembly went well we were scared but didn't give up, maybe you should try it.


Our future Assembly should have more practice we didn't have much.

When The Tabby Cat Plays The Fiddle

Once upon a time in a land where a Tabby Cat played a fiddle, the Metal Fork and the Stone Spoon came out. The Fork and Spoon did the Cha-Cha while the Dirty Dish got ready for the big party. A Flat Sphere disk came soaring towards a patterned cow. Then suddenly a light blue beam shone down towards the patterned cow. The beam made the patterned cow hover higher and higher above the ground until it looked like he was jumping over the moon. The Furry Little Dog wasn't there to laugh and see such sport. When the Shiny Dish came out, the Metal Fork ran away with the Stone Spoon.

Cat in Caps

Near the desert over the slopes,
through 6 villages was a little
cottage. But in that cottage lived
a cat, but that cat is not normal,
he wears a cap.  Cat in Caps has
an owner called Ethan, they weren't
wealthy like their old neighbor back
in England. Cat in Caps was planning
on how to steal the Wallis Simpson Onyx.
Ethan went to draw then found out his plan
. He would beg his cat can he come but the cat
would refuse. Until, until the day came, Ethan begged
1 more time and finally Cat in Caps agreed. 

As they snuck into a plane they hid in a nasty crate
filled with unpleasant rats. But Cat in Caps found that
box interesting.

When they made an appearance at England the
queen sent out soldiers to strike them. But they remained
alive, When they reached their neighbors home it was bigger
than the neighborhood. As we looked at the gate we saw 4
blade-like tooth Pitbulls. As we slid past Cat in Caps was
quivering. When we finished walking past them there were
2x more Pitbulls then before. We finally found the vault then
Cat in Caps carefully grabbed it out. When we got it we flew
home to find cops at our house.

2.Felicia walks into school and she sees her classmates

3. The three  students tell her to stop and walk
away to class.

4. They are all in the same class, and the three
students tell what happened to the teacher.

5. The teacher  tells the students they had to
learn some new maths . And Felicia did not
understand so she tried to copy but she got
caught from one of the three students.

6. Bell rings for morning tea and everybody
goes out to play.

7. But the teacher pulls Felicia back to chat
to her of what happened in the morning.   

8. The teacher sends Felicia to the principal's office.

9. Principal tells Felicia what happens and she’s
not really happy with it so she called Felicia’s mum of
what happened then the mum comes and talk to her.

10. Felicia went back to the principal and said “if it’s
ok to go back and say sorry to the three students”.

11. Principal say’s yes and Felicia went to say sorry
while the mum and principal stayed back. Felicia went
to apologize then suddenly they became best friends.

12. Felicia learns to never do that again but at the end
of the day she learns from her mistakes.

Felicia learnt to not be disrespectful because it hurts
other people’s feelings too.

The message from the film was to learn from your
mistakes.

Problem: Felicia was really disrespectful.

Solution: She learnt from her mistakes and became
friends with the three boys.
